Minor aliments
We can offer a range of treatments without the need of a prescription from your GP. We will offer you a consultation with our experienced pharmacist, and we can provide you with the treatment you need.
Pharmacy First
impetigo, UTI women 16 – 65, Infected insect bites, shingles, sore throat, Sinusitis, Ear infections
We offer pharmacy first services (can link national pages?, pictures etc) which allows patients to seek advice and access appropriate treatment for minor health issues and ailments without needing to make a GP appointment. This is available via walk in at anytime during our opening hours. Some of the conditions can be treated with over the counter medication and some may need medication prescribed within the pharmacist’s limitation. Anything we are unable to treat, we will refer you to your GP.
Contraception services
This service is available for patients that would like to start on oral contraception, or need a supply of their ongoing contraception medication. The combined pill is available via the pharmacy for patients up to and including 49 years of age, and the progesterone only pill up to and including 54 years.
Adult and Child (2-3 yrs NHS) Flu vaccinations
Why not protect yourself against flu? Do you meet the following eligibility criteria?
Aged 65 or over, Aged 18 – 64 with an eligible health condition, pregnant, living with someone with a weakened immune system, frontline, NHS or social care worker then you are eligible for a FREE flu vaccine on the NHS.
We also provide a Private Flu vaccine – You can book your PRIVATE flu vaccine here via our website – anyone is eligible.
New medication services
If a patient has been recently prescribed any medications for the conditions below are eligible to receive the service. The patient will come in and discuss the medication with the pharmacist and then attend 2 weekly follow up appointments to review.

This service is available for patients aged 40years and above who have not currently been given a diagnosis of hypertension. At the request of the GP practice, we can provide patients with ad-hoc or a 24hr ambulatory blood pressure measurement and helps to promote healthy habits to patients.
If you are unable to obtain your usual medication or have gone on holiday and forgotten your medication, Probus Pharmacy can offer you with an emergency supply. This service means we can provide you with a short supply of most medications to carry you through until you are able to continue your usual medication. Just pop in and see the pharmacist.
Emergency Contraception
The morning after pill must be taken as soon as possible following unprotected sex. If you think you may need this, just walk in and see our pharmacist. A quick private consultation, with a few questions and we can provide either Levonelle or ellaOne depending on which is most suitable for you. The sooner you take it the more effective it is!
